Responsibilities
Lead large-scale Oracle & MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL migrations, including cloud modernisation on AWS, Azure, or GCP, by defining optimal strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor).
Design secure, scalable database architectures ensuring high performance, data integrity, and minimal downtime during migrations.
Perform query optimisation, convert PL/SQL/T-SQL to PL/pgSQL, and implement performance tuning, indexing, and partitioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage HA/DR and backup strategies, and leverage migration tools (AWS DMS, Ora2Pg, Azure DMS) while mentoring teams and enforcing best practices.
