Role & responsibilities
Achieve Production Targets
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production plans are achieved as per customer requirements.
Monitor production schedules and take corrective actions to meet delivery commitments.
Improve Quality Performance
Monitor weld quality and ensure adherence to quality standards, control plans, and customer specifications.
Reduce rejection, rework, and welding defects through effective process control and problem-solving initiatives.
Enhance Productivity
Optimize manpower allocation, machine utilization, cycle time, and line balancing.
Drive improvements in line efficiency and overall productivity.
Ensure Safety & Compliance
Implement and enforce safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies within the weld shop.
Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and corrective actions to maintain a secure working setting.
Drive Cost Reduction Initiatives
Control welding consumable usage and minimize wastage.
Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and implement cost-saving projects to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure Equipment Reliability
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure maximum machine uptime.




Monitor preventive and predictive maintenance activities to avoid production disruptions.
Team Development & Leadership
Train, mentor, and develop supervisors, technicians, and operators.
Build technical competencies and leadership capabilities within the team.
Lead Continuous Improvement Programs
Drive Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify process improvement opportunities and ensure successful implementation.
Focus on Customer Satisfaction
Support recent product development, trial runs, and PPAP activities.
Ensure timely resolution of customer concerns and quality issues.
Monitor and Review Performance
Review key performance indicators (KPIs) including:
Production Achievement
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
PPM (Parts Per Million)
Rework and Rejection Levels
Safety Performance
Delivery Adherence
Prepare and present performance reports to management and recommend improvement actions.

Preferred candidate profile

8 to 15 years of experience in automotive/manufacturing production.

Minimum 5 years of experience in managing Weld Shop operations.

Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and IATF 16949 requirements preferred
