1. IDENTIFICATION
• Job Title : Senior Manager-Site Manager
• Reporting Line : Project Manager
• Department: Construction
• Employment Type: Permanent
• On Site/HO Role: Project Site
2. CONTRIBUTION
• Financial- Project budget adherence across multiple sites, Cost optimization and claim management, Contractor/vendor cost control.
• Non-Financial- Construction quality and safety standards, Timely delivery of projects, Risk mitigation and stakeholder alignment.
3. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Senior Manager-Site Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all construction activities across multiple renewable energy projects. The role ensures projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. This position acts as the central authority between HO planning and site execution teams, driving consistency, efficiency, and excellence in construction delivery.

• Internally- Project Managers (HO), Site Managers (In office), Procurement, Finance, Legal, QHSE, Asset Operations
• Externally- EPC Contractors & Subcontractors, Vendors & Suppliers, Nodal Agencies & Regulatory Authorities, Local Communities & Land Teams
5. PROFILE
• Qualification- B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical/Mechanical/Power); M.Tech or PG Diploma preferred, Certification in Project/Construction Management (PMP/Prince2/Lean Construction) desirable.
• Experience-18+ years of experience in Power/Energy sector, with at least 8–10 years in renewable energy (wind/solar), Proven track record of leading multi-site, large-scale construction projects, Strong exposure to heavy civil, electrical, and mechanical works
• Knowledge: Renewable energy construction techniques, grid connectivity, laws & regulations, QHSE standards, OSHA compliance
• ICT Skills: MS Project/Primavera, MS Office,
SharePoint/document management systems
• Other Skills: Leadership, negotiation, stakeholder management, organizational excellence
• Abilities: Strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong decision-making under pressure
• Language: English, Hindi (additional regional languages an advantage)
6. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Strategic Construction Oversight
a) Objectives:
i) Provide leadership and direction for all construction activities across multiple renewable energy projects.
ii) Ensure alignment of site execution with HO project strategy, budgets, and timelines.
iii) Standardize construction methodologies and reporting across projects.
b) Measures:
i) % of projects delivered on time and within budget.
ii) Consistency of reporting formats and compliance across sites.
iii) Reduction in deviations between HO plan and site execution.
2) Project Planning & Delivery
a) Objectives:
i) Approve and oversee construction schedules, resource allocation, and mobilization plans.
ii) Monitor project progress against agreed KPIs (time, cost, quality, safety).
iii) Anticipate risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
b) Measures:
i) Schedule adherence (% milestones achieved on time).
ii) Variance between planned vs. actual costs and timelines.
iii) Number of risks identified vs. mitigated successfully.
3) Contractor & Vendor Management
a) Objectives:
i) Evaluate, select,
and manage EPC contractors and subcontractors.
ii) Ensure compliance with technical, commercial, and contractual obligations.
iii) Resolve disputes and claims effectively to minimize project disruption.
b) Measures:
i) Contractor performance ratings (quality, timeliness, safety compliance).
ii) % of contracts delivered without disputes or claims.
iii) Cost savings achieved through vendor negotiations.
4) QHSE & Compliance
a) Objectives:
i) Enforce strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
ii) Drive a culture of zero harm and continuous improvement across sites.
iii) Ensure all statutory and regulatory approvals are secured and maintained.
b) Measures:
i) Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) / Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR).
ii) % of projects with zero major non-compliance issues.
iii) Number of QHSE audits passed successfully.
5) Reporting & Communication
a) Objectives:
i) Provide consolidated construction progress reports to Head – Projects & Construction.
ii) Escalate critical issues with recommended corrective actions.
iii) Facilitate effective coordination between HO and site teams.
b) Measures:
i) Timeliness and accuracy of weekly/monthly dashboards.
ii) % of escalated issues resolved within agreed timelines.
iii) Stakeholder satisfaction scores (internal & external).
6) Team Leadership & Development
a) Objectives:
i) Mentor and guide Project Construction Managers and Site Managers.
ii) Build a high-performance culture across construction teams.
iii) Drive capability development and succession planning.
b) Measures:
i) Employee retention and engagement scores.
ii) % of team members trained/certified in relevant skills.
iii) Number of internal promotions/successors developed.
