This candidate will prepare and sometimes perform the technical review of fund partnership entities and related state filings. Tasks include the preparation of intermediate and complex level tax returns, reviewing basic engagements, as well as researching and consulting on tax matters. The Tax Senior is responsible for sustaining excellent customer relationships and supervising, motivating, and developing our tax associates to become future members of this industry group.What You'll DoPrepare tax returns for private equity funds, Fund of Funds and Trader/Hedge Funds.Prepare and maintain partnership capital accounts and 704(b) schedulesReview operating agreements and allocation provisions to ensure proper income allocationsPrepare necessary foreign filings such as 1042s, 5471s, 8804 and 8865sAddress complex areas such as carried interest and incentive allocations, tiered partnership structures, timing differences and special allocationsReview letters of intent, purchase agreements, and other legal documentation related to tax transactions when applicableContinuously expanding Subchapter K knowledge and application,



as well as overall professional developmentPerform complete and efficient technical reviews of fund partnership tax returnsGather data from customer and/or third-party sourcesPerform basic tax research to support tax return positionsResolve all open items/issues encountered on assigned engagementsActively monitor engagement economics by managing budgets and seeking efficienciesDirect and control concurrent assignments to successful completionDevelop and lead associates through engagements, delegate assignments and tasks when appropriateProvide honest, objective, and constructive feedback in timely manner to associatesCollaborate to identify and sell opportunities among existing customersServe as a mentor and role model through active participation in firm committees, departmental matters, and eventsActive in recruitment of new and experienced associatesWhat We're Looking ForBachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, mustSignificant progress toward EA License or CPA certification, preferredMinimum 4+ years of recent public accounting firm experience Experience working with private equity funds, fund of funds and hedge/trader funds (Form 1065) and dealing with Subchapter K reporting mattersStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective analytical and problem-solving abilityStrong time and work management skillsLeadership and project/team management skillsAdvanced excel skillsKnowledge of CCH Axcess is a requirement but not mandatoryKnowledge of CaseWare is preferred but not requiredWhy Join Us?Collaborative, people-first culture focused on career development.Exposure to complex alternative investment and private equity structures.Opportunities to build deep expertise in partnership taxation and Subchapter K.Career advancement and leadership opportunities.Hybrid work flexibility after onboarding and training period.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
