The ideal candidate will have a strong JavaScript/TypeScript background and possess exceptional communication skills.This is a growth position within our organization. In this role you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills working with GraphQL and API design. You will be responsible for researching data source APIs, designing GraphQL schema, and implementing resolvers. You will be surrounded by a team of experienced engineers with a team mindset that are ready to work together to build amazing things.Job Responsibilities:Technical Leadership:Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriateAbility to work liaising with multiple teams to steer projects from inception to successful deliveryProvides financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requestedIdentifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.Delivering Technology:Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects.Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services ProvidersValidates completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider solutioningEnsures all projects follow the defined development and business case processesEnsures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teamsProvides consultation for routine and complex systems developmentEnsures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levelsCoordinates with Application Delivery and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activitiesIT Governance:Follows all defined IT standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G;, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as neededMaintains a proper balance between business and operational riskAbility to assess when risks need to be escalated to right channels.Follows the defined project management standards and processesSkill and Experience:Self-motivated and results-driven, with a passion for learning and growthStrong verbal and written communication skillsJavaScript and TypeScript as your primary development languageExperience with modern front-end or back-end web technologies and frameworks.Proven track record of working with scalable, high-quality web applicationsUnderstanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile(SCRUM) ProcessStrong understanding of data structures and software design patternsDeep understanding of the difference in capabilities (such as orchestration, filtering, sorting etc) that GraphQL provides over RESTKnowledge of when to best apply those capabilities2+ years designing and building APIs2-4 years contributing to JavaScript projects (strong knowledge of ES6Server side GraphQL API designA desire to create great GraphQL SchemaAbility/understanding on how to use containerization (Docker) for node.js appsPerformance tuning experienceTechnical writing experienceQA Automation experienceWork location: Hyderabad, India.Work mode: HybridMarriotts core values:At Marriott, ourcore values make us who we are.
