Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, control circuits, interlock schemes, terminal plans, and cable schedules using EPLAN.
- Design and engineer Low Voltage (LV) switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), distribution boards, synchronization panels, and control panels in accordance with IEC 61439 standards.
- Prepare detailed electrical layouts and panel arrangements based on customer requirements, project specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Configure and integrate protection, metering, monitoring, and control devices within switchgear systems.
Technical Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC standards, customer specifications, utility requirements, and internal engineering procedures.
- Perform protection coordination reviews and verify selectivity concepts where applicable.
- Coordinate closely with mechanical design teams to ensure proper integration between electrical and mechanical layouts.
- Provide technical support to project managers, procurement, manufacturing, QA/QC, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Bill of Materials & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with approved electrical designs.
- Support estimation and procurement teams with component selection, material specifications, and technical clarifications.
- Review component availability and recommend suitable alternatives when required.
- Manage engineering documentation, revision control, and project records .
Manufacturing & Project Support
- Support production teams by resolving design-related issues during manufacturing and assembly.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings,
customer discussions, and factory acceptance activities when required.
- Contribute to engineering process improvements, design standardization, and development of reusable design templates.
Technical Knowledge
- Robust knowledge of IEC 61439, IEC 60947, and related Low Voltage standards.
- Sound understanding of power distribution systems, protection coordination, and motor control applications.
- Familiarity with LV switchgear platforms such as Siemens SIVACON S8, Siemens solutions, or equivalent OEM systems (Schneider, ABB, Eaton, Legrand, etc.).
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, project requirements, and customer standards.
- Strong knowledge of electrical components, switchgear assemblies, protection devices, metering systems, and control equipment.
- Familiarity with OEM catalogs, technical manuals, and product configurators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Siemens SIVACON S8 system design and engineering.
- Software for electrical networks calculations like ETAP , Docwin , Simaris design , Ecodial and others.
- Knowledge of SIMARIS Design, SIMARIS Configuration, or equivalent switchgear engineering tools.
- Understanding PLC-based control systems, ATS panels, synchronization systems, and communication protocols.
- Experience within panel manufacturing, switchgear factories, or EPC project environments.
