Job Title: Network Engineer L2

Role Overview

The Network Engineer L2 provides advanced operational support for enterprise network infrastructure. This role handles escalated incidents from L1, performs in-depth troubleshooting, ensures network stability and performance, and supports implementation of network changes in a 247 setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Level 2 support for network-related incidents and service requests
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and Internet connectivity
- Handle escalations from L1 and coordinate with L3 / vendors for complex issues
- Monitor network health using NMS tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.)
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
- Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
- Support network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs




- Participate in on-call / shift-based support as required

Technical Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP, NAT
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or Fortinet devices
- Good understanding of routing & switching (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP basics)
- Experience with firewalls and VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN)
- Basic knowledge of network security concepts
- Experience working in ITIL-based environments

Tools & Technologies

- Network Monitoring Tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
- Ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira)
- Wireshark / packet analysis tools
- Firewall management platforms

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 5-7years of relevant network support experience
- Certifications preferred: CCNA / CCNP / JNCIA / NSE
