Role & responsibilities

1. Overall Plant Operations:

- Lead and manage complete plant operations to achieve organisational objectives.
- Ensure smooth functioning of Production, Maintenance, Quality, Stores, Engineering, Safety and Support Functions.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve plant productivity and operational efficiency.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly production performance.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of manpower, machinery and materials.

2. Production Management:

- Ensure achievement of production targets as per approved production plans.
- Improve machine utilisation, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Monitor production losses, downtime, rejection and wastage.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with Planning, Sales and Supply Chain departments.

3. Technical Leadership:

- Provide robust technical leadership in Circular Loom, Sulzer Loom and Extrusion operations.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement technical improvements.
- Improve machine efficiency and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Drive continuous improvement in production processes.
- Lead troubleshooting of major technical and operational issues.
- Support new product development and process development activities.

4. Quality Management:

- Ensure consistent product quality and compliance with customer specifications.
- Reduce rejection,



rework and customer complaints.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to strengthen quality systems.
- Implement root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Promote a Right First Time” manufacturing culture.

5. Cost Control and Profitability:

- Monitor and control manufacturing costs.
- Reduce material wastage, energy consumption and process losses.
- Improve raw material yield and conversion efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Prepare and monitor annual plant budgets.

6. Maintenance and Engineering:

- Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
- Minimise machine breakdown and unplanned downtime.
- Ensure availability of critical spares and maintenance resources.
- Coordinate with the Engineering team for machinery upgrades and improvements.
- Drive automation and technology improvements wherever feasible.

7. Leadership and People Management:

- Provide strong leadership and direction to all plant employees.
- Build a high-performance and disciplined work culture.
