Job Description

- Architect and design power-conversion stages (buck/boost, LLC, PFC, battery charge control 100 W 3 kW), analogue front-ends and mixed-signal sections.
- Own schematic capture and 48 layer PCB layout in KiCad with DFM/DFA discipline, including impedance control, thermal design, creepage/clearance and EMC layout.
- Generate and maintain BOMs against the approved-vendor list (NXP, TI, ADI, onsemi, ST) and manage second sourcing.
- Bring up boards on the bench using oscilloscope, electronic load and thermal camera; characterise efficiency, ripple and transient response.
- Write firmware-facing hardware specifications and support the firmware engineer during board bring-up.
- Prepare design-review packages and EMI/EMC pre-compliance test plans.
- Use AI/LLM tools daily for schematic and code generation, datasheet analysis, test-plan drafting and design-review preparation, and verify all generated output against datasheets, standards and measurements.
- Maintain structured, versioned engineering documentation using Git, issue trackers and design-review packages

Experience

35 years hands-on product development (design/build/ship; not support, services, or QA-only)

Key Skills





- 3+ years designing switch-mode power and/or analogue boards that reached production or field use.
- Proficient in KiCad (or Altium with willingness to move to KiCad 9) for multi-layer layouts.
- Solid grasp of magnetics selection, loop compensation, thermal design and protection circuits.
- Working knowledge of MCU peripheral interfacing (ADC, PWM, I2C/SPI) and basic embedded C to assist bring-up.
- Can read a schematic, flash and debug a microcontroller, and write a Python utility script.
- Personally shipped at least one hardware/firmware product or field prototype to a real user.
- Fluent with Git, issue trackers and structured written design documentation.
- Willing to work on defence and dual-use programmes and travel for field trials.

Good to have: 400800 V HVDC/tethered-power experience, MIL-STD-461/810, DO-160 or CISPR pre-compliance exposure, LTspice/PSIM, battery management and Li-ion/LiPo charging experience.

Work Preference

In office at Thaltej, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with field-trial travel within India. Candidates should have hands-on product-development experience and be willing to work on defence and dual-use programmes.
