Key Responsibilities
- Plan, and oversee fabrication of heavy machinery components, Transformer Tanks and Pressure vessels, and industrial equipment.
- Develop and review engineering drawings, process sheets, and fabrication standards.
- Supervise shop-floor operations including welding, cutting, bending, and fabrication of large parts.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards (ISO, ASME, AWS), and client specifications.
- Collaborate with design, planning, and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to reduce cycle time and costs.
- Conduct inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and quality audits of fabricated components.
- Manage vendor coordination for outsourced fabrication.
- Train and mentor technicians and operators in advanced fabrication techniques.
ualifications
- Diploma / Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing or large-scale fabrication.
- Solid knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, MIG, TIG, SAW), machining, and sheet/plate metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
- Familiarity with ERP systems for production planning and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in fabrication of pressure vessels, heavy machinery, or structural steel.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and automation in heavy fabrication.
- Exposure to project management and resource planning.
- Ability to manage large teams and coordinate across multiple departments.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- NDT qualifications would be an added advantage.
