We are looking for a skilled and certified Electrical Maintenance Technician with a valid C-Licence to join our Engineering team. The role is responsible for the safe and reliable operation, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant electrical systems, covering equipment from HT yards to production machinery.

The position will also play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, electrical safety, and adherence to applicable state electrical regulations, including validation and certification of electrical installations and modifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Operations & Maintenance

- Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment, including:
- Transformers
- HT/LT panels
- MCC/PCC panels
- VCB/ACB circuit breakers
- Motors and associated control systems

- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults in:

- Motors
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Control circuits and instrumentation interfaces

- Read and interpret electrical schematics, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings for troubleshooting and installation activities.
- Monitor and ensure reliable operation of utility equipment such as Diesel Generator (DG) sets, air compressors, and associated electrical systems.
- Monitor plant power quality and maintain Power Factor (PF) close to unity through effective operation and maintenance of APFC panels.
- Coordinate with production and other engineering functions to minimize electrical downtime and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

2. Statutory Compliance & Licensing

- Act as the designated C-Licence holder and undertake responsibilities related to electrical installations and modifications within the scope permitted under applicable regulations.
- Ensure electrical maintenance and installation activities comply with applicable state electricity regulations,



electrical safety standards, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with the State Electricity Board and Electrical Inspectorate for inspections, audits, load sanctions, approvals, and licence-related requirements.
- Maintain statutory records and documentation, including:
- Electrical inspection records
- Earth-pit testing records
- Statutory registers
- Relevant Form F/H submissions
- Electrical equipment testing and certification records

- Ensure timely renewal and maintenance of applicable electrical licences, certificates, and statutory approvals.

3. Electrical Safety

- Implement and strictly enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during electrical maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for electrical work.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations, panels, cable systems, earthing systems, and electrical rooms to identify potential safety hazards.
- Ensure appropriate PPE and safe working practices are followed during electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support electrical safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action implementation.

4. Reliability & Continuous Improvement

- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring electrical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce breakdowns, and minimize electrical-related production downtime.
- Monitor maintenance performance indicators such as MTBF, MTTR, breakdown frequency, and maintenance compliance.




- Maintain proper maintenance records and ensure timely closure of maintenance activities.
- Drive 5S and good housekeeping practices in electrical rooms, workshops, and plant utility areas.
- Participate in energy conservation and electrical efficiency improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems and industrial electrical maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with transformers, HT/LT panels, MCC/PCC, VCB/ACB, motors, VFDs, and control circuits.
- Knowledge of PLC-based control systems and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret SLDs, electrical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Valuable understanding of electrical safety, LOTO, PTW, earthing, and statutory compliance.
- Knowledge of DG sets, compressors, APFC panels, and plant utilities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing/plant environment.
- Good coordination and communication skills.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- A valid and relevant C-Licence is mandatory.
- Additional electrical safety certifications will be an advantage.

Experience

- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in industrial/manufacturing electrical maintenance.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in HT/LT systems, plant maintenance, electrical statutory compliance, and troubleshooting will be preferred.
