Position description: This role involves managing the end-to-end import process, ensuringcompliance with international trade regulations, optimizing supply chainlogistics, and collaborating with various internal teams to fulfill engineeringproject needs effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Import Management

-Manage the overall import operations forengineering items, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetconstraints.

- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customsbrokers, and shipping companies to facilitate the importation process.

Monitor and track shipments to ensure punctual delivery andresolve any shipping issues.

1. Regulatory Compliance:

- Stay updated on relevant international traderegulations and tariffs to ensure compliance with import laws of variouscountries wherever operations takesplace.

- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation forimports, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customsdeclarations.

3. Vendor Relations:

- Establish and maintain strong relationshipswith global logistics service providers for ensuring proper documentation and shipment

- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with logisticsservice providers to optimize costs and secure favorable terms.

- Evaluate service provider performance and ensure consistency in quality and delivery.

1. Supply Chain Optimization:

- Identify opportunities for improvement in thesupply chain process to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

- Collaborate with internal departments, includingengineering, procurement, and finance, to align import strategies with projectrequirements.

Develop and implement inventory management strategies tomaintain optimal stock levels of engineering items.

1. Reporting and Analysis:

- Prepare and present regular reports on import andexport activities, budgets, and performance metrics to senior management.

- Providing advance information on changes taking place invarious countries w.r.t.



import laws regulations, packing packagingchanges in various countries, IMDG Code, which can adversely affecttransportation and thereby Customer Service

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Workclosely with project managers and engineering teams to understand project needsand timeline

- Participate incross-functional teams to contribute to current product development and improvement initiatives.

- Advising and monitoring the transportation is arrangedthrough proper co-ordination with logisticsteam specially for over dimensional cargo.

- Reporting Designation: Head - Global Customer Delight
- Reporting Department: Global Customer Delight

Educational qualifications preferred

- Bachelors degree Engineering preferably Industrialengineering

- Supply Chain Management, Business Administration

Required Certification/s: Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS,CSCP) or Customs Compliance is a plus.

Required work experience:

- Around 15 years of relevant experience inmanufacturing sector.
