Job Title: Physiotherapist
Department: Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation
Reports To: Head of Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation Manager / Medical Superintendent
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

The Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments, injuries, and movement disorders. The role focuses on restoring mobility, reducing pain, improving functional independence, and enhancing quality of life through evidence-based physiotherapy interventions.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess patients' physical condition, mobility, strength, posture, balance, and functional abilities.
- Develop individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on clinical assessment and physician referrals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercise therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, gait training, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans according to clinical outcomes.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, posture correction, and ergonomic practices.
- Assist in the rehabilitation of patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, pediatric, geriatric, and sports-related conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient assessment records, treatment notes, and progress documentation.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure safe use and maintenance of physiotherapy equipment.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance protocols.
- Participate in health education, wellness programs, and community rehabilitation initiatives.
- Stay updated with current physiotherapy practices through continuing professional development.

Required Qualifications





- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from a recognized institution.
- Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in a relevant specialty (preferred).
- Valid registration with the State Physiotherapy Council or other applicable regulatory authority, where required.

Experience

- Freshers or candidates with 13 years of experience in a hospital, rehabilitation center, or physiotherapy clinic.
- Experience in orthopedic, neurological, sports, ICU, or post-operative rehabilitation is an advantage.

Required Skills

- Strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills.
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
- Proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and electrotherapy techniques.
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
- Ability to motivate patients throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Robust documentation and clinical record-keeping skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).

Working Conditions

- Hospital, rehabilitation center, physiotherapy clinic, or community healthcare setting.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting patients during therapy sessions.
- May require rotational shifts depending on organizational needs.

- Timely completion of assessments and treatment plans.
