Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and responsible OT Technician / Operation Theatre Technician to support surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and other clinical staff during surgical procedures. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Operation Theatre is properly prepared, sterile, safe, well-organized, and adequately equipped before, during, and after procedures.

The role will also involve assisting with hair transplant procedures, maintaining infection-control standards, managing surgical instruments and equipment, and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the Operation Theatre before and after surgical procedures.
- Arrange, inspect, and ensure the availability of surgical instruments, equipment, consumables, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgical and hair transplant procedures as required.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection-control practices at all times.
- Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and appropriate storage of surgical instruments.
- Check the functionality and readiness of OT equipment and promptly report any faults, shortages, or maintenance requirements.
- Assist in the safe positioning, shifting, and transfer of patients.
- Maintain OT records, surgical checklists, sterilization records, and inventory documentation accurately.
- Handle and transfer surgical specimens in accordance with established hospital protocols.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per applicable guidelines and hospital procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and proper organization of the Operation Theatre.




- Assist in maintaining adequate stock of surgical instruments, consumables, and other OT supplies.
- Follow hospital policies related to patient safety, infection prevention, emergency procedures, and occupational safety.
- Provide support during emergency procedures and remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Perform other OT-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of Operation Theatre procedures and surgical instruments.
- Strong understanding of sterilization, disinfection, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to identify, arrange, and handle surgical instruments appropriately.
- Basic knowledge of anesthesia procedures and common surgical procedures.
- Familiarity with OT protocols and patient safety procedures.
- Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong teamwork and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies and under pressure.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, night duties, weekends, and emergency duties.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Relevant experience in a hospital, clinic, Operation Theatre, or surgical facility will be preferred.
- Experience or exposure to hair transplant procedures will be an added advantage.

Working Conditions

- Rotational shifts, including night duty.
