Job Title: QA Engineer Trainee
Location: Carnival Infopark, Kochi, Kerala

Job Summary
We are looking for a QA Engineer Trainee who is passionate about Quality Assurance and has a good understanding of both Manual Testing and Test Automation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium with Java and/or Playwright with TypeScript, along with a good understanding of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and programming/scripting concepts in Java and/or TypeScript.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Create and maintain automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java and/or Playwright with TypeScript.
- Participate in requirement analysis and identify suitable areas for test automation.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.
- Detect, report, and track bugs through to resolution.
- Work closely with developers, QA team members, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining automation scripts and testing frameworks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation practices, and testing tools.
- Learn and follow QA processes, testing standards, and best practices.
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of Manual Testing concepts, including test case preparation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Good Exposure in Selenium WebDriver with Java for web automation.
- Basic Understanding in Playwright and TypeScript for modern web application automation.
- Good understanding of Java programming OOP concepts, collections, exception handling, etc.
- Basic understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript and basic programming concepts.
- Familiarity with TestNG/JUnit and Maven/Gradle is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of Playwright features such as locators, assertions, test execution, and reporting is an advantage.
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman or REST-assured is a plus.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Willingness to learn current testing tools and technologies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant academic/project exposure in Software Testing or QA can apply.
- Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines is an added advantage.
- Exposure to both Selenium and Playwright is an added advantage.
