Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and proactive L2 Java Application Support Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Kafka, SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, and Git. The role involves application support, troubleshooting production issues, code analysis, defect fixes, and ensuring smooth functioning of business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L2 production support for Java-based applications.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents within defined SLAs.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
- Support maintenance and enhancement activities for existing applications.
- Monitor application performance and ensure system stability.
- Work closely with development, testing, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution.
- Review logs, debug code, and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Execute SQL queries for data validation and issue analysis.




- Develop and maintain Unix Shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.
- Use Git/GitHub/GitLab for source code management and deployment support.
- Participate in release management and production deployments.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and support runbooks.

Required Skills

- Strong programming and analytical skills in Core Java (Java 8+).
- Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE applications.
- Good knowledge of Kafka.
- Strong SQL skills and database querying experience.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Positive attitude, ownership mindset, and willingness to learn current technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in application maintenance and production support environments.
- Exposure to incident management and ticketing tools.
- Understanding of application monitoring and logging tools.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies is an added advantage.
