Role & responsibilities

Prepares tax returns for clients in various types of entities and industries.

- Works with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are completed,

including tax planning, client interaction and performing special tax projects.

- Gathers relevant tax-related information from client so an accurate return can be prepared.
- Performs tax preparation at clients offices while audits are taking place.
- Performs research activities as tax issues arise.
- Communicates with clients, the IRS and other business professionals as needed.
- Coordinates various activities to meet client needs within a specified time frame.
- Trains and mentors lower-level employees in the tax department.
- Understands and applies work procedures and effectively tailors plans as necessary.
- Maintains awareness of general business trends and issues, and applies that knowledge to client

issues and solutions.

- Participates in the area of business development.
- Networks, builds relationships and attracts new clients or business to the Firm.
- Attends training seminars,



career development and networking events.
- Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
- Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.

- 3-4 years of experience in tax accounting required.
- Valid Certified Public Accountant license or working towards obtaining CPA license preferred;

Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted.

Well-rounded knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.

• Demonstrates critical and analytical thinking skills.

• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.

• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and related programs.
