Why This Role Exists
We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Lead who can bridge the gap between food science and manufacturing.
This role is for someone who enjoys developing formulations, troubleshooting production challenges, improving processes, and scaling products from the lab to commercial production.
You won’t just develop recipes-you’ll build products that can be manufactured consistently and efficiently.
Educational Qualifications
M.Tech in Food Engineering & Technology, Food Science and Technology, Food Processing Engineering, Food Technology, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Food Processing Technology.
What You'll Do
1. Build New Product Platforms
Lead the development of new product platforms from idea to commercialization by defining problem statements, developing technical strategies, building Product Initiation Documents (PIDs), designing experiments (DOE), and converting concepts into commercially viable products.
Examples include:
- Fully Crunchy Platform
- Functional Mineral Bars
- Baked Bar Platform
- Flakes Platform
- Future Functional Nutrition Products

Own Product Development Workstreams
Drive multiple product workstreams simultaneously through structured technical development.
Activities include
- Problem Statement Development
- PID preparation
- DOE planning
- Prototype development
- Optimization
- Validation
- Commercial transfer
Your work should move projects through clearly defined technical stages instead of isolated formulation trials. This reflects your staged development approach from problem definition through commercialization.
3. Lead Formulation & Ingredient Innovation
Develop and optimize formulations by understanding ingredient functionality, processing behaviour, nutritional impact, sensory performance and commercial feasibility.

4. Design Scientific Experiments
Plan and execute structured Design of Experiments (DOE) instead of relying on trial-and-error.

5. Engineer Manufacturing Processes
Develop manufacturing processes alongside formulations.
Responsibilities include
- Mixing optimization

6. Commercialize Products
Convert successful laboratory products into repeatable manufacturing systems.
Activities include
- Scale-up planning
- Pilot plant trials
- Manufacturing validation

7. Develop Product Knowledge Systems
Create technical documentation that enables repeatable development.

8. Drive Technical Innovation
Explore new ingredients, technologies and manufacturing methods that strengthen Charya's product platforms.
