About the Role

The Head of Infrastructure will own the end-to-end technical delivery, readiness, reliability and governance of the program infrastructure across production, disaster recovery and non-production environments. The role combines hands-on architecture with delivery leadership across bare-metal OpenShift, Linux, databases, compute, storage, networking, security, observability and multi-vendor telecom platforms.

The successful candidate must be capable of reviewing designs, challenging vendors, leading complex troubleshooting and making production-grade infrastructure decisions.

Mandatory Experience:

Overall experience

12+ years in enterprise infrastructure, including at least 5 years in infrastructure architecture or technical leadership.

OpenShift

Hands-on production experience with Red Hat OpenShift, including installation or lifecycle management of bare-metal clusters.

OpenShift internals

Strong experience with networking, storage, SCC/RBAC, Operators, ingress/routes, DNS, certificates, upgrades and troubleshooting.

Cloud-native and load balancing

Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture, F5 load balancing, GSLB and MetalLB in bare-metal OpenShift environments.

SDN and MTU

Practical understanding of SDN,



overlays/underlays, VLANs, bonding and end-to-end MTU/jumbo-frame troubleshooting.

Databases

Practical infrastructure experience supporting MySQL InnoDB Cluster/Group Replication and asynchronous replication; exposure to Oracle and MSSQL preferred.

Storage and data platforms

Working knowledge of Ceph architecture, GridGain distributed data grids and Oracle Database infrastructure dependencies.

Server hardware

Hands-on HPE iLO/Redfish experience and working knowledge of Dell iDRAC, firmware, BIOS, RAID, NIC/HBA and hardware troubleshooting.

Core infrastructure

Strong Linux/RHEL, virtualization, storage, data-centre networking, load balancing, monitoring, backup and DR experience.

Leadership

Proven ownership of complex multi-vendor infrastructure delivery, senior stakeholder communication and critical incident leadership.

Telecom and Big Data

Practical understanding of telecom OSS/BSS transaction flows and dependencies, plus infrastructure experience supporting Big Data or analytics platforms.

Performance and RCA

Demonstrated experience diagnosing complex performance degradation and producing technically sound RCAs for major production outages.

Preferred Qualifications

- Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator/Engineer or equivalent production experience.
- Relevant Red Hat Linux, Kubernetes, VMware, network, database or IT service-management certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Python/Bash automation, REST APIs and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience delivering infrastructure in geographically distributed or emerging-market telecom environments.
