About the Role

The

Design Engineer

- Industrial Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing tools, fixtures, layouts, and manufacturing systems to improve productivity, quality, ergonomics, and cost efficiency. The role integrates product design understanding with industrial engineering principles to support productive manufacturing operations.

This role is giving more exposure to building the smart and digital shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop

tools, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and special-purpose mechanisms

2. Lead

DFM/DFA initiatives

to ensure manufacturability at design stage
3. Develop

2D/3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation

4. Support prototype development and engineering change management
5. Implement

Lean Manufacturing systems

(Kaizen, 5S, SMED, TPM)
6. Conduct

time studies, motion studies, and line balancing

7. Design

high-efficiency production layouts and material flow systems

8. Drive

cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and cost optimization

9. Develop

standard work systems and operational SOPs

10. Support

New Product Introduction (NPI)

and process industrialization
11. Lead

process validation, capability studies, and production stabilization

12. Apply

Value Stream Mapping (VSM)





and waste elimination strategies
13. Collaborate cross-functionally with

Design, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and

14. Support

8D, control plan and PFMEA preparation

Required Qualifications

- - B. E / B. Tech - Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
- not from

Computer science, electrical engineering, electronics communications, civil engineering, biomedical engineering, architecture

- Diploma candidates with strong experience may also be considered

Experience Requirements

- - 2-3 years of Manufacturing industry background
- Exposure to tooling, fixtures, and production systems
- Experience in automotive / railway / heavy engineering / fabrication / assembly industries is an advantage
