Position Overview
Support environmental and social safeguard compliance, field-level monitoring and maintenance of safeguard documentation for CITIIS 2.0 activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support compliance with applicable environmental and social safeguard requirements
- Review E&S; aspects of DPRs, technical documents, work plans and reports
- Identify environmental and social risks associated with project activities
- Undertake field inspections and document compliance observations
Maintain safeguard monitoring records and checklists
- Coordinate safeguard matters with the project team, contractors and relevant agencies
- Track issues and support corrective actions and follow-up
- Provide E&S; inputs to progress reports and CITIIS platform reporting
Support stakeholder consultations on environmental or social matters
- Assist with safeguard-related workshops and capacity building
Minimum Qualification and Key Competencies
Degree or Masters degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field.
Minimum 5 years Experience in environmental/social safeguards and urban projects preferred. Relevant backgrounds include safeguard compliance, environmental monitoring, environmental management plans, site inspections and government project documentation.
E&S; safeguard monitoring; field inspection; compliance documentation; technical document review; risk identification; corrective-action tracking; project-team coordination; report writing.
