- Evaluating sourcing procedures and presenting improvement strategies to

senior management for approval

- Analyzing and calculating procurement costs and developing cost reduction

strategies

- Driving purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well

as market trends

- Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply,

service, and quality

- Collaborating with the procurement department to identify and pursue new supplier

opportunities

- Conducting market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts
- Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques, as well as

negotiating contracts that comply with industry regulations

- Maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing solid partnerships

with suppliers

- Apply project management concepts to the planning and execution of the

sourcing process.

- Develop and communicate in-depth knowledge of key material market suppliers

and cost infrastructure

- Development of New Suppliers, Processes etc
- Drive strategies for Global Sourcing with right price, on-time delivery and quality




- Help determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of

business / group strategy.

- Staying current on industry and market trends and best practices

- Relationship Management

- Coordinate with various departments for timely development of new parts and sourcing strategies
- Coordinate with Global counterpart on to the department related objectives & work management

Education and Experience Education

- Diploma or Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering

Professional Experience

- 10-15 years of experience in Sourcing, New Part Development
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
- Experience in supplier quality management and audit processes.

Languages

- English, Kannada, Hindi
- Strong verbal and written fluency in English required
- Working knowledge of Kannada required
