PROPOSAL ENGINEER – JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Proposal Engineer
Location: Chennai
Experience: 2.5+ Years
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are looking for a Proposal Engineer to prepare technical and commercial proposals for engineering and project requirements. The role involves understanding client requirements, preparing quotations, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring proposals are submitted accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

- Review RFQs, tenders, enquiries, and client requirements.
- Understand technical specifications, scope of work, drawings, and project requirements.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals based on client requirements.
- Prepare quotations, cost estimates, BOQs, and material/service requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, projects, and vendors for required inputs.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations and technical information.
- Prepare proposal documents, compliance statements, and technical submissions.
- Ensure proposals meet client specifications, standards, and tender requirements.
- Identify deviations, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications in proposals.
- Maintain records of submitted proposals, quotations,



and tender documents.
- Follow up with clients and internal teams regarding enquiries and proposals.
- Support negotiations and revisions based on client feedback.
- Ensure proposals are submitted within the specified deadlines.

Required Skills

- Good understanding of engineering and project requirements.
- Knowledge of preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical and costing skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple proposals.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in EPC, Engineering, Construction, Oil & Gas, Industrial Projects, or similar industries.
- Experience handling RFQs, tenders, BOQs, quotations, and vendor coordination.
- Knowledge of procurement and estimation processes will be an advantage.
