Design & Estimation Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Design & Estimation Engineer with 2–4 years of relevant experience in structural steel fabrication, industrial projects, or estimation.

The candidate will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, preparing accurate project estimates and BOQs, calculating material quantities and weights, and supporting the design, procurement, and project execution teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret structural, architectural, fabrication, and engineering drawings.
- Prepare accurate project cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and detailed material take-offs.
- Calculate quantities and requirements for structural steel, roofing, cladding, and other project materials.
- Perform total weight calculations based on site measurements and project drawings.
- Analyze material requirements and optimize material consumption, wastage, and project costs.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, production, and project execution teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements for estimation purposes.
- Maintain accurate estimation records, BOQs, quantity sheets, and project documentation.
- Assist in preparing quotations and commercial estimates as required.
- Ensure estimates and project documentation comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and company procedures.
- Support project teams with quantity calculations and technical information during execution.
- Identify discrepancies in drawings, quantities, or specifications and coordinate with the concerned teams for clarification.

Required Skills & Competencies





- Good knowledge of structural steel fabrication and estimation.
- Ability to read and understand engineering, structural, architectural, and fabrication drawings.
- Hands-on experience in BOQ preparation and material quantity estimation.
- Good knowledge of steel quantity and weight calculations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with design, procurement, and execution teams.
- Valuable communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- or a related engineering discipline

Experience

2–4 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:

- Structural steel fabrication
- Industrial structures
- PEB / steel structures
- Roofing and cladding projects
- Quantity estimation
- BOQ preparation
- Project estimation

Salary

₹3.0 – ₹4.5 LPA

Salary will be offered based on the candidate's experience, technical skills, and interview performance.
