Job Title: Assembly Assistant
Department : Production / Assembly
Location : Chikkabidarakallu , Bengaluru
Job Summary :
The ITI Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, and maintaining mechanical parts, equipment, and components as per technical drawings and production requirements.
The role involves using hand tools, measuring instruments, and ensuring proper fitting and alignment of parts.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and fit mechanical parts and components as per drawings and instructions.Ensure proper alignment, fitting, and finishing of components.
Assist in machine installation, repair, and maintenance activities if required.
Identify and report defects or issues in parts or assemblies.
Maintain safety standards and proper housekeeping in the work area.
Follow production schedules and supervisor instructions.
Handling, organizing, and supplying components from kits to the workstation to prevent shortages.Adhering to electro-static discharge (ESD) safety regulations by wearing wrist straps or aprons to protect sensitive electronic components.Recording production numbers, material usage, and defects in the "machine traveller sheet" or ERP systems.Inspecting incoming components for defects and testing the final product (key registration, RGB lights, mouse sensor functionality).
Required Skills
Manual Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination for handling small screws, springs,
and keycaps.Technical Understanding: Ability to read assembly instructions, schematics, and work orders.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot defects, such as misaligned keys or faulty wiring.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours and perform repetitive tasks.
Problem-Solving: Identifying malfunctions in machinery or defects in components to stop the line and report issues .
Typical CKD Assembly Workflow Preparation: Receiving CKD kits (keycaps, PCBs, bottom casing, rubber domes/switches, USB cables).
PCB Prep: Soldering switches/modules onto the PCB and testing.Mechanical Assembly: Placing the PCB in the housing, securing with screws, and snapping the top/bottom cases together.
Peripheral Assembly: Installing keycaps on keyboards or mouse buttons/scroll wheels.
Functional Testing: Connecting to a computer to test all keys/buttons and indicators (LEDs).
Packaging: Cleaning and packing finished units into boxes with manuals.
Qualification : ITI in Fitter Trade (Mandatory)
Experience : 0–3 years of experience in line manufacturing, or assembly work.
Working ConditionsFactory / workshop environment.
May involve standing for long hours and handling mechanical tools.
