Job Summary

Hirenest is hiring a senior IoT Platform Engineer to design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance IoT platforms handling real-time telemetry and data ingestion.

The role combines hands-on development, cloud architecture, technical leadership, mentoring, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop IoT platforms, backend services and REST APIs.
- Build event-driven and serverless architectures using AWS.
- Develop services using Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, Lambda and ECS/Fargate.
- Work with real-time telemetry, IoT data ingestion and distributed systems.
- Design APIs using API Gateway, authentication, caching and rate limiting.
- Develop data/ETL pipelines using Python, AWS Glue and PySpark.
- Lead architecture, code reviews, technical decisions and mentoring.
- Troubleshoot performance, scalability, security and production issues.
- Implement monitoring and observability using CloudWatch and X-Ray.

Must-Have Skills

- 14+ years software engineering experience.
- 6+ years AWS hands-on experience.
- 5+ years technical leadership / Lead Developer experience.
- 3+ years mentoring or managing engineering teams.
- 2+ years IoT / telemetry / real-time data experience.

Valuable to Have

Groovy, Snowflake, Apache Spark/PySpark, Liquibase, Linux and Binary Protocol Parsing.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
