Job Description: Server/System Engineer

Position: Server/System Engineer
Location: RIL HMD Site (On-site)
Shift: Rotational Shifts (including nights/weekends as per roster)
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Server/System Engineer to manage and support server infrastructure at the RIL HMD site. The role requires hands-on expertise in server administration, system monitoring, and troubleshooting in a 24x7 operational environment, working on a rotational shift basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and related infrastructure
- Monitor server performance, availability, and health on a continuous basis
- Perform routine maintenance, patching, and system updates
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related server issues
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory services
- Handle backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (network, storage, application) for issue resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and incidents
- Ensure compliance with security policies and standard operating procedures




- Respond promptly to incidents/alerts during assigned shift and escalate as needed
- Support cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS) where applicable

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Server/System Engineer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server / Linux server administration
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls)
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to work on-site at the RIL HMD location
- Valuable troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills

Mandatory Certification (Any one required)

- MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate), or
- Microsoft Azure Certification (e.g., AZ-104), or
- AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator / Solutions Architect Associate)

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
