Corrugation Box Operations Manager / Production Head

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Corrugation Box Operations Manager / Production Head who can independently manage the complete end-to-end operations of a corrugated box manufacturing unit.

The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of corrugation, paper procurement, production planning, printing, die-cutting, stitching/pasting, quality control, manpower management, costing and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Production Management

- Independently manage the complete corrugated box manufacturing process.

- Plan daily/weekly production as per customer orders and delivery schedules.

- Prepare production plans and ensure timely completion of orders.

- Monitor machine productivity, wastage, downtime and production efficiency.

- Ensure smooth coordination between all production stages.

2. Corrugation Operations

- Strong hands-on knowledge of 3-ply, 5-ply and 7-ply corrugated board manufacturing.

- Knowledge of paper GSM, BF, flute, moisture and paper combinations.

- Monitor flute formation, bonding, board strength and sheet quality.

- Control paper wastage and optimize raw material consumption.

3. Printing & Conversion

- Knowledge of flexographic printing operations.

- Experience with slotting, rotary cutting, die punching/die cutting, stitching and pasting.

- Ability to set production parameters and troubleshoot routine machine/production issues.

- Ensure correct printing, dimensions, creasing, slotting and finishing as per customer specifications.

4. Production Planning & Cost Control

- Calculate material requirements for customer orders.

- Plan paper consumption and minimize wastage.

- Monitor production cost, labour cost and machine utilization.





- Maintain production records and daily MIS.

- Identify opportunities for reducing manufacturing costs.

5. Raw Material & Inventory

- Coordinate with purchase/store teams for kraft paper, duplex paper, semi-kraft, starch/glue, inks, stitching wire and other consumables.

- Monitor stock levels and production requirements.

- Ensure proper storage and handling of paper and finished goods.

6. Quality Control

- Ensure finished boxes meet customer specifications.

- Check GSM, dimensions, BF/ECT where applicable, moisture, bonding, printing and workmanship.

- Handle customer complaints related to quality and take corrective action.

- Maintain production and quality documentation.

7. Manpower Management

- Manage operators, helpers and production workers.

- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.

- Monitor worker productivity and discipline.

- Train operators and improve production efficiency.

8. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

- Coordinate preventive maintenance of corrugation and conversion machinery.

- Identify production-related machine problems and coordinate with maintenance technicians.

- Minimize machine breakdowns and production downtime.

9. Dispatch & Order Execution

- Coordinate with sales, production, stores and dispatch teams.

- Ensure orders are produced and dispatched within committed timelines.

- Verify quantity, specifications and packing before dispatch.

Required Experience

The candidate must have 5–10 years of practical experience in corrugated box manufacturing and should preferably have handled a complete production/operations department.

Candidate Profile

- Solid practical/technical knowledge of corrugated box manufacturing.

- Ability to independently run factory operations.

- Good leadership and manpower management skills.

- Strong problem-solving ability.

- Production-oriented and cost-conscious.

- Able to work under production and delivery targets.

- Good knowledge of Excel and basic production MIS will be preferred.

- Experience in handling customer-specific box specifications will be an advantage.

Salary

₹35,000 – ₹50,000 per month, depending on experience, technical capability and ability to independently manage the plant.

Higher salary can be considered for a highly experienced candidate who can independently take complete responsibility for plant operations.
