Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager – Control Engineering to lead and manage the control engineering team. The role involves technical leadership, team building, control system design, engineering coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality control engineering solutions.
The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge of electrical control systems, industrial automation, engineering documentation, and team management, preferably within transformer manufacturing or electrical equipment industries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the control engineering team.
- Build a high-performing and technically capable team.
- Allocate work and monitor team productivity and performance.
- Identify training and development needs of team members.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and technical capability building.
- Conduct performance reviews and promote knowledge sharing.
2. Control System Design & Engineering
- Oversee control system engineering and design activities for power transformers and associated equipment, as applicable.
- Review control circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure control designs meet technical specifications, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and resolve design-related issues.
- Coordinate control panel design, protection, monitoring, and auxiliary control circuits, as applicable.
- Support design optimization, standardization, and system reliability.
3. Engineering Execution & Project Coordination
- Plan and monitor control engineering deliverables to meet project timelines.
- Coordinate with Electrical Design, Mechanical Design, Production, Quality, and Project Management teams.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering activities.
- Review technical requirements and support engineering issue resolution.
- Monitor project progress and escalate critical technical concerns.
4. Testing, Quality & Commissioning Support
- Oversee control system testing and validation activities.
- Support functional testing of control panels, wiring, and control circuits.
- Ensure engineering outputs meet quality and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant teams for troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement in testing procedures and engineering quality.
5. Process Improvement & Standardization
- Develop and improve engineering standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency and productivity.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational processes and applicable standards.
- Promote technical best practices within the team.
6. Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare regular updates on engineering progress and team performance.
- Coordinate with senior management regarding project priorities and technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and records.
- Support resource planning and departmental operational improvements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Control Engineering / Electrical Control Systems.
- Proven experience in team handling and people management.
- Strong knowledge of electrical control systems and engineering drawings.
- Experience in control panel engineering, wiring diagrams, and control circuit design.
- Understanding of industrial automation, PLC, HMI, or SCADA systems, where relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

- PLC / HMI and industrial automation.
