Role: Powertrain Strength & Durability
Responsibilities:
- Develop Powertrain and Auxiliary system FE models using HyperMesh and SimLab.
- Execute CAE simulations for powertrain systems including:
- Modal and Frequency Response Function (FRF) analysis.
- Nonlinear structural and thermal analyses.
- Low-cycle and high-cycle fatigue assessments.
- Define and apply structural and thermal loads, boundary conditions, and solver settings for simulation execution.
- Perform post-processing, interpret simulation results, identify failure modes, and develop countermeasures to achieve target performance criteria.
- Generate and evaluate weight and cost optimization proposals.
- Collaborate with design and test teams for failure analysis, CAE-test correlation, and continuous improvement of CAE methodologies.
Technical/ Functional:
- Robust understanding of engine components and subsystems, including engine block & cylinder head, cranktrain, and exhaust systems.
- Hands-on experience with CAE tools such as Abaqus, FEMFAT,
Nastran, AVL Excite, HyperMesh, SimLab, and NX.
- Sound knowledge of powertrain systems, combustion phenomena, and associated thermal and dynamic load conditions.
- Proficient in Nastran dynamic analyses (SOL103, SOL111, SOL112), Abaqus thermal and nonlinear simulations, and FEMFAT fatigue assessments.
- Experience in Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) analysis using AVL Excite is an added advantage.
- Capable of handling large DOF finite element models involving complex nonlinear contact interactions.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and macro-based automation for reporting and workflow efficiency.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and data interpretation capabilities.
