Job Responsibilities – TGT SST (Geography)

- Teaching Social Science/Geography to students at the middle-school/secondary level as per the school curriculum.
- Planning and preparing lessons using age-appropriate teaching methods, activities, maps, charts, presentations, and digital resources.
- Explaining geographical concepts such as physical and human geography, climate, resources, population, agriculture, industries, maps, and environmental issues.
- Developing students' map-reading and geographical skills, including atlas work, diagrams, data interpretation, and project-based learning.
- Preparing assessments, worksheets, assignments, question papers, and class tests according to the prescribed curriculum.
- Evaluating students' work and maintaining accurate records of academic progress.
- Providing individual support and remedial teaching to students who need additional academic assistance.
- Managing the classroom effectively and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning workplace.
- Using technology and interactive teaching techniques to make Social Science lessons engaging and activity-oriented.
- Conducting projects, activities,



quizzes, discussions, presentations, and experiential-learning exercises related to Geography and Social Science.
- Preparing students for examinations and helping them develop answer-writing, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Participating in parent-teacher meetings and communicating students' academic and behavioural progress to parents.
- Collaborating with other teachers and school departments for interdisciplinary projects and academic planning.
- Participating in school events, assemblies, clubs, field trips, exhibitions, and other co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Following school policies and CBSE/curriculum guidelines, maintaining professional standards, and completing documentation and administrative duties.
- Continuously improving subject knowledge and teaching practices through professional development and training.
