Role Summary
The Global Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers across international markets to support HOBB's manufacturing and export requirements. The role focuses on building a diversified global supply base for raw materials, components, and outsourced processes — balancing cost, quality, lead time, and compliance. The position requires close coordination with commercial, quality, engineering, and logistics teams, and regular engagement with suppliers across different geographies, time zones, and regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Research and map global supply markets to identify potential sources for steel, fasteners, castings, forgings, galvanizing, and allied components.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified international suppliers, including pre-screening on capability, capacity, certifications, and financial stability.
- Issue RFIs/RFQs, run structured commercial comparisons, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, Incoterms, and lead times.
- Evaluate landed cost — including freight, duties, tariffs, customs handling, and currency exposure — rather than unit price alone.
- Coordinate sample development, First Article Inspections, and pilot orders with quality and engineering teams before commercial release.
- Conduct supplier audits (in office or virtual) and assess compliance with quality systems, environmental, and ethical/social standards.
- Manage supplier onboarding: documentation, contracts, NDAs, quality agreements, and system/master data setup.
- Monitor supplier performance against scorecards covering quality, on-time delivery, responsiveness,



and cost competitiveness.
- Drive dual-sourcing and risk mitigation strategies to reduce dependency on single suppliers or single-country sourcing.
- Track global commodity trends, freight indices, and trade policy changes, and advise management on sourcing implications.
- Support import/export documentation requirements in coordination with the logistics and commercial teams.
- Represent HOBB at international trade fairs, supplier conferences, and sourcing missions as required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, International Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years in global sourcing, international procurement, or vendor development — preferably in steel, metal fabrication, or engineered products.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing from multiple regions (e.g. China, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Europe, or Latin America).
- Working knowledge of Incoterms, import/export documentation, customs procedures, and international payment instruments (LC, TT).
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build long-term supplier relationships across cultures.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Willingness to travel internationally.

Preferred

- Familiarity with sourcing platforms, supplier databases, and market intelligence tools.
- Exposure to pole line hardware, transmission/distribution components, or utility sector supply chains.
- Understanding of anti-dumping duties, FTAs, and country-of-origin rules.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
