Job Description – Primary & Middle School English Teacher (Grades 2–8)

Job Summary

Chrysalis High is looking for a passionate and dedicated Primary & Middle School English Teacher to teach students from Grades 2 to 8. The candidate should have robust command of the English language and the ability to create engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate learning experiences that develop students' communication, reading, writing, grammar, and critical-thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach English to students from Grades 2 to 8 as per the school curriculum.
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate classroom lessons.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, tests, and examinations.
- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
- Use creative and innovative teaching methods to make language learning effective and enjoyable.
- Assess student performance and provide regular, constructive feedback.
- Identify individual learning needs and provide appropriate support and remedial instruction.
- Encourage students to participate in storytelling, reading activities, presentations, debates, role plays, and other language-based activities.
- Maintain student records, attendance, academic performance, and classroom discipline.
- Use digital teaching tools and educational technology to enhance classroom learning.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.




- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings, staff meetings, school events, and co-curricular activities.
- Collaborate with the academic team for effective curriculum planning and implementation.

Experience

- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in English at the Primary and/or Middle School level is preferred.
- Experience teaching Grades 2 to 8 will be an added advantage.
- Experience in a CBSE school is preferred.

- Strong command of English language, grammar, literature, and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage students through interactive and student-centred teaching methodologies.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies according to different age groups and learning needs.
- Proficiency in digital teaching tools and educational technology.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and organisational skills.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and student development.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in English or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates with relevant CBSE school teaching experience will be preferred.
