Principal Architect

SUMMARY:

Kestra's Advisor Platform Engineering organization is seeking an experienced Principal Architect to lead the architecture strategy and technical vision for enterprise-scale software platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and delivering cloud-native applications, leading large-scale modernization initiatives, driving DevSecOps adoption, and mentoring engineering teams. This role requires expertise in distributed systems, microservices, cloud architecture (Microsoft Azure), .NET, Node.js, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-enabled engineering practices. The Principal Architect will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Business leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions while driving engineering excellence and innovation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, this individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Cloud Architecture:

Strong expertise designing and implementing enterprise cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure. Experience with cloud migration, cloud-native architecture, serverless computing, Docker, cloud networking, scalability, resiliency, and high-availability solutions.

Backend Development:

Strong proficiency in Typescript and C# (React/Node.js, .NET Framework/.NET Core) with extensive experience designing enterprise applications, REST APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and scalable backend services.

Cloud Native Architecture:

Experience building cloud-native microservices using:

DevOps & Automation:

- Microsoft Azure
- Docker
- Azure Service Bus/Azure Event Hub
- Distributed Systems
- Event-driven Architecture
- API-first Design

Strong experience implementing DevSecOps practices using:





Observability & Reliability:

- GitHub
- Infrastructure as Code (Azure Bicep preferred)
- Automated CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Automated Testing

Experience implementing enterprise monitoring and observability solutions using:

Databases:

- Monitoring (Azure Monitor/Application Insights/Analytics Workspaces preferred)
- SRE Practices
- Performance Benchmarking

Robust experience working with relational and NoSQL databases including:

Security:

Experience implementing secure coding practices, DevSecOps, security-first architecture, code quality, vulnerability management, and enterprise compliance standards.

- 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Cloud Architecture, and Enterprise Architecture.

- Proven experience delivering enterprise cloud-native applications using AWS and GCP.
- Experience leading large engineering teams, mentoring Architects and Senior Engineers, and driving enterprise technology strategy.
- Experience in Financial Services or highly regulated enterprise environments is preferred.
