We are seeking a highly technically skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer with a passion for Operating system (OS) frameworks in embedded systems. You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge software for the next generation of Vizio Smart TVs.

About the Team
Come help us build the next generation of smart TVs We're building a new platform from the ground up to take user experience to the next level for millions of users. You will be joining the team that builds and maintains the core operating system platform that is a basis of strong foundation. . Your work will have a large, direct impact on customer experience.

What You Will Do
Design, develop, implement, and test embedded OS framework and software for Smart TV platforms
Collaborate with engineers at the UI, Middleware, and Hardware/Device layer to integrate and optimize Smart connected TV features
Develop unit tests and participate in system-level integration testing in a BDD (Behavioral Driven Development) framework
Train and mentor junior engineers




What you’ll bring

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in embedded software development
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture and resource management
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) / Linux based embedded systems
• Experience with C/C++ (C++ 17 or later) programming for embedded systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to clearly document designs and communicate design methodology with other team members
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team workplace
Preferred Skills:
• Understanding of video and audio processing on embedded Smart TV systems.
• Experience with TV industry standards and protocols
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Behave.
• Knowledge of modern C++ based desi
