Description
As a Commercial Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and underwriting commercial insurance proposals. Your primary focus will be on property, engineering, and miscellaneous lines, ensuring that risks are accurately assessed and priced. With your expertise, you will contribute to the growth and success of our commercial insurance portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite commercial insurance proposals for property, engineering, and miscellaneous lines.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and pricing analyses to ensure profitability and sound underwriting practices.
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to understand their insurance needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Maintain robust relationships with brokers and clients, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
- Review and analyze policy renewals, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.




- Work closely with the claims team to understand claim trends and incorporate learnings into underwriting practices.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance your underwriting skills and knowledge.
- Assist in developing and implementing underwriting guidelines and best practices.
- Contribute to the overall success and growth of the Commercial UW department.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any field, with a preference for a business, finance, or insurance-related major.
- 5-6 years of commercial underwriting experience, with a strong focus on property, engineering, and miscellaneous lines.
- Knowledge of Marine and Liability insurance is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with brokers and clients.
