Position Summary
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our work enables customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will be part of Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, drive cost reduction strategies focusing on vibration and structural dynamics, acoustics,



and noise control of our scientific instruments.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mechanical systems and assemblies with emphasis on vibration control, structural dynamics, and acoustic performance for high-precision scientific instruments.
- Perform vibration, structural dynamics, and acoustic analyses to optimize system performance using FEA tools.
- Design noise reduction and damping solutions using appropriate materials and engineering techniques.
- Support system integration and ensure mechanical designs meet performance, quality, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
- Vibration/acoustic troubleshooting, including environmental/floor vibration and airborne excitation, experimental characterization, and correlation of measurements with analytical/FEA models
- Lead Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives to reduce product cost while maintaining or improving perfor
