We at looking for a Principal Software Engineer Manager to help shape Search experiences for the future with the ability to span across the stack, building & running services at scale with high reliability.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S.,



country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers and data scientists. Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development. Foster an inclusive, high-performance, and collaborative engineering culture. Support engineers through coaching, feedback, and continuous development.
- Delivery & Execution: Partner with Product Managers, Architects, Designers and Stakeholders to define roadmaps and priorities. Own end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives with predictable execution. Drive sprint planning, estimation, prioritization, and release management. Manage risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications effectively.
