JOB SUMMARY The Zonal Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, market development, distributor management,
and business expansion for the company's laparoscopic devices and surgical consumables within the assigned zone.
The role involves developing high-performing sales teams, building strong relationships with surgeons and hospitals,
and achieving revenue and profitability objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Sales & Business Development - Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned zone. - Drive
sales of laparoscopic devices, including: - Trocars - Ligation clips - Clip applicators - Ligation bands - Laparoscopic instruments - Surgical accessories and consumables - Develop strategies to increase market penetration and product adoption. - Identify new business opportunities across corporate hospitals, government institutions, nursing homes, and surgical centres. - Monitor competitor activities, pricing, products, and market developments.
1. Team Management - Recruit, train, develop, and manage Regional Managers, Area Managers, and Territory Sales
personnel. - Set individual sales targets and monitor team performance.
- Conduct regular field visits, joint customer calls, and performance reviews. - Coach team members on product knowledge, clinical selling, negotiation, and account management. - Ensure optimum manpower deployment across the zone.
1. Key Account Management - Build and maintain relationships with: - Laparoscopic surgeons - General surgeons -
Gynecologists - Urologists - Hospital procurement teams - Biomedical departments - Hospital management - Develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and clinical advocates for the product portfolio. - Support product evaluations, trials,
demonstrations, and conversions.
1. Distributor & Channel Management - Identify, appoint, and develop distributors and channel partners. - Ensure
adequate inventory availability across key markets. - Monitor distributor performance, secondary sales, collections, and inventory. - Resolve channel conflicts and improve distributor productivity. - Ensure timely submission of sales and stock reports.
1. Government & Institutional Business - Support participation in government tenders and institutional opportunities. -
Coordinate with internal teams for tender documentation and commercial submissions. - Develop relationships with government hospitals, medical colleges, and institutional buyers. - Track upcoming tenders and business opportunities within the zone.
1. Product Training & Clinical Support - Ensure the sales team has strong knowledge of laparoscopic procedures and
products. - Conduct regular product training programs for employees and distributors. - Coordinate workshops, CMEs, product demonstrations, and surgeon engagement programs.
- Work closely with clinical and marketing teams during new product launches.
1. Sales Planning & Reporting - Prepare annual zonal business plans and sales forecasts. - Monitor achievement
against targets and take corrective actions where required. - Review sales performance, market share, customer acquisition, and product mix. - Ensure accurate CRM reporting, sales forecasts, and MIS submissions.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Graduate degree in Science, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, or Business Administration preferred. - MBA in
Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- 10–15 years of experience in medical device or surgical device sales. - Minimum 3–5 years in a sales leadership
role managing a region or zone. - Experience in laparoscopic devices, surgical consumables, OT equipment, or minimally invasive surgery products will be highly preferred. - Strong experience in managing distributors and institutional accounts. PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate should have a strong network within hospitals and the surgical community and should be capable of independently building and expanding the laparoscopic device business across the assigned zone. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, commercial acumen, distributor management capability, and the ability to develop a high-performing sales team.
