Role & responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document reporting and analytics requirements from HR, HR Technology and business stakeholders.
- Design, build, maintain and optimise Workday reports aligned to operational, management, compliance, audit and strategic reporting needs.
- Develop Advanced, Matrix, Composite and other appropriate Workday report types using the correct data sources and business objects.
- Create, maintain and troubleshoot calculated fields, including complex logic required to support business-critical reporting.
- Build and maintain dashboards and management information that provide clear, actionable insight to HR and business stakeholders.
- Support Workday operational reporting, scheduled reporting and recurring reporting processes across the HR Technology landscape.
- Analyse reporting incidents and production issues, identifying root cause and providing effective L2/L3 support and durable resolution.
- Ensure report outputs are accurate, performant and appropriately secured, working with the Workday Security Consultant where required.
- Work closely with functional consultants to understand configuration, business-process and data dependencies that affect reporting outputs.
- Support data validation, reconciliation and quality checks where reports form part of business-critical HR processes or controls.
- Develop and support self-service reporting capability, ensuring reports are intuitive, appropriately governed and aligned to stakeholder needs.
- Assess reporting impacts arising from Workday configuration changes, new functionality and biannual Workday releases.
- Prepare and execute unit, regression and user acceptance testing for new and amended reports, calculated fields and dashboards.
- Document report logic, calculated fields, data sources, business objects, security requirements, dependencies and support procedures.
- Identify opportunities to rationalise duplicate or low-value reports and improve the quality,
consistency and efficiency of the reporting estate.
Skills
- Minimum 6 years' hands-on Workday Reporting and Analytics experience, with 10+ years strongly preferred.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Workday Reporting and Analytics within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong experience building Advanced, Matrix and Composite reports and selecting the correct Workday data sources and business objects.
- Expert-level experience designing and troubleshooting Workday calculated fields, including complex multi-step logic.
- Strong understanding of Workday reporting security and the interaction between report access, data sources, domains and security groups.
- Experience developing dashboards and management information for HR, HR Technology and business stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of Workday business objects, related business objects and the underlying data model used for reporting.
- Experience troubleshooting report performance, data-quality and reconciliation issues in a production Workday environment.
- Experience with Discovery Boards and Workday Prism Analytics is highly desirable where relevant to the environment.
- Excellent spoken and written business English, with the ability to translate business questions into clear and accurate reporting solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Workday Security certification or Workday Pro Security accreditation is highly desirable.
- Experience or certification in Identity and Access Management, Information Security or IT controls is beneficial.
- Experience within a Workday consulting, AMS, managed-service or large enterprise HR technology environment is preferred.
- Experience supporting internal or external audits, compliance reviews and security-control testing is strongly preferred.
- Strong commitment to data protection, governance, documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
