The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) for flood risk assessment, drainage, river engineering, and water resources projects.
- Perform rainfall-runoff modelling, watershed delineation, hydraulic analysis, and flood inundation assessments.
- Analyze terrain and geospatial datasets including DEMs, LiDAR, satellite imagery, and other GIS-based inputs.
- Prepare flood hazard, flood depth, flood velocity, and flood risk maps using GIS platforms.
- Conduct urban stormwater management studies, watershed management studies, and river engineering assessments.
- Calibrate, validate, and interpret hydrologic and hydraulic models to support project delivery.
- Prepare engineering designs, technical calculations, modelling reports, GIS outputs, drawings, and project documentation.
- Support flood forecasting systems, model integration activities, and dashboard-based visualization platforms where applicable.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, water, environmental, transportation, and GIS professionals.
- Assist in preparation of technical proposals, cost estimates, methodologies, and business development activities.
- Participate in client meetings, workshops, field investigations, and site visits as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian and international engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BE/BTech) in Civil Engineering.
- 4-5 years of professional experience in Hydrology, Hydraulics, and Water Resources Engineering.
- Proficiency in HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) for hydrologic and hydraulic modelling.
- Experience with ArcGIS and/or QGIS for geospatial analysis and mapping.
- Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, river hydraulics, rainfall-runoff modelling, and drainage design.
- Experience in flood risk assessment, watershed management, river engineering, and urban stormwater projects.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and project documentation.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (ME/MTech) in Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, Hydraulic Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience with flood forecasting systems and integration of forecasting platforms.
- Knowledge of flood dashboards, decision-support systems, or real-time monitoring applications.
- Experience working with terrain datasets, LiDAR, remote sensing data, and advanced geospatial processing techniques.
- Understanding of climate resilience, climate change impact assessment, and integrated water resources management.
- Working knowledge of Python, R, GIS automation, or scripting tools for model development and data processing.
- Familiarity with CPHEEO, IRC, MoRTH, BIS, and/or relevant international standards and guidelines.
- Previous experience supporting proposal development and business development initiatives.
- Willingness to travel for project activities, client engagements, field investigations, and site assessments.
