Production Manager

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to manage and control the complete manufacturing activities of pharma-grade purified water generation systems and process equipment.

1. Production Planning & Execution

- Prepare daily, weekly and project-wise production plans based on project requirements and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities for RO, UF, EDI, UV, Ozone, PW generation and distribution systems, skids, tanks and piping assemblies.
- Ensure production activities are completed within defined timelines.

2. Fabrication & Assembly

- Supervise SS fabrication, TIG welding, piping, skid fabrication, tank fabrication, machining, assembly and installation activities.
- Ensure fabrication is carried out as per approved GA drawings, P&IDs;, fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Monitor fit-up, welding, orbital/TIG welding, polishing, passivation and other fabrication activities where applicable.
- Ensure proper assembly of pumps, valves, instruments, piping, filters, membranes, electrical/control panels and associated equipment.
- Review manufacturing difficulties and provide practical solutions in coordination with Engineering.

3. Manpower Management

- Manage production supervisors, technicians, fabricators, welders, fitters, helpers and other shop-floor personnel.
- Allocate manpower according to project priorities and production requirements.
- Train and develop production personnel to improve workmanship and efficiency.
- Maintain discipline and safe working practices on the shop floor.

Quality & Documentation

- Ensure manufacturing complies with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for inspections and testing.
- Ensure proper WPS/PQR, welding records, inspection reports, hydro/pneumatic testing, dimensional inspection, material traceability and other applicable documentation.

5. Material & Inventory Coordination

- Coordinate with Stores and Procurement for timely availability of production materials.
- Verify material requirements against BOMs and drawings.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.

6. Project Coordination

- Work closely with the Project Manager / Project Engineer to understand project priorities and delivery commitments.
- Provide regular production status updates.
- Identify critical activities affecting project completion and take corrective action.
- Coordinate factory inspection, FAT, punch-point closure, packing and dispatch readiness.

7. Productivity & Cost Control

- Improve production efficiency and manpower utilization.
- Reduce fabrication time, material wastage and rework.
- Develop standard manufacturing practices and SOPs.
- Monitor production cost against project requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

8. Safety & Shop-Floor Management





- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S on the shop floor.
- Ensure protected handling of welding equipment, machinery, lifting equipment and tools.
- Report and address unsafe conditions immediately.

Required Technical Knowledge The candidate should have working knowledge of:

- SS 304 / SS 316 / SS 316L fabrication
- TIG welding and sanitary/industrial piping
- Skid fabrication and equipment assembly
- Pressure vessels and process tanks
- RO / UF / EDI / UV / Ozone systems
- Pumps, valves, filters and instrumentation
- P&IDs;, GA drawings, fabrication drawings and BOMs
- Welding, grinding, polishing and passivation
- Hydrostatic / pressure testing
- Material traceability and inspection procedures
- Pharma / GMP-oriented manufacturing practices
- Production planning and project scheduling
- ERP / Excel-based production tracking

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

5–10 years of relevant experience in production/manufacturing, preferably in:

- Pharmaceutical equipment
- Water treatment equipment
- Process equipment
- SS fabrication
- Skid manufacturing
- Piping and equipment assembly
- Industrial machinery manufacturing
