About the Role

We are looking for a talented and passionate Character Artist to join our creative team. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in Manga, Manhwa, Webtoons, and character-driven storytelling and should enjoy creating expressive, visually appealing characters.

The candidate will work closely with our editorial and creative teams to develop character artwork, expressions, poses, costumes, and visual references for manga/manhwa-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Create original character designs, character sheets, poses, expressions, and illustrations.
- Develop characters based on provided story, scripts, references, and creative direction.
- Create artwork inspired by Manga, Manhwa, Webtoon, and anime-style visual language.
- Maintain consistency in character appearance, costumes, hairstyles, facial features, and proportions across different artworks.
- Understand and interpret character personalities and emotions through visual expressions and body language.
- Work on character references and artwork required for publishing and promotional materials.
- Make corrections and revisions based on feedback from the editorial and creative teams.
- Research current Manga, Manhwa, Webtoon, and anime art trends and incorporate relevant visual approaches where appropriate.
- Maintain organized working files and follow the company's art and file-management guidelines.
- Collaborate with other artists, editors, designers, and production team members to meet project deadlines.

Required Skills





- Strong drawing and illustration skills with a good understanding of:

- Human anatomy and proportions

- Facial expressions

- Body poses and gestures

- Clothing and costumes

- Hair and character styling

- Perspective and basic composition
- Good understanding of Manga and/or Manhwa art styles.
- Ability to create characters with different personalities, appearances, and emotions.
- Good sense of visual storytelling.
- Ability to understand and follow art references and creative briefs.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to accept feedback and make revisions.
- Ability to work within deadlines and handle multiple assignments.

Software Skills Knowledge of digital art and illustration software such as:

- Clip Studio Paint preferred
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Procreate or similar digital drawing software

Candidates with strong traditional drawing skills who are willing to develop their digital-art skills are also encouraged to apply. Preferred Qualifications

- A degree/diploma in Fine Arts, Illustration, Animation, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Personal artwork, Manga/Manhwa illustrations, fan art, character designs, or a strong portfolio will be highly valued.
- Experience creating Manga, Manhwa, Webtoon, anime-style, or comic-style artwork is an advantage.
- Candidates who regularly read or follow Manga,



Manhwa, Webtoons, or anime and understand the visual styles and storytelling conventions are preferred.

Portfolio Requirement Candidates must submit a portfolio of their artwork along with their application.

The portfolio should preferably include:

- Character designs
- Facial expressions
- Full-body character drawings
- Different poses and gestures
- Manga/Manhwa-style artwork
- Character costumes and variations
- Any comic, webtoon, or sequential-art samples

Manga/Manhwa-related artwork in the portfolio will be an added advantage.
