Job Summary

Sri Deepam Engineering is looking for experienced VTL Operators to join our CNC machining team.

The ideal candidate should have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in operating VTL machines and should be well versed with Fanuc CNC operating systems. The candidate should be capable of independently operating the machine, setting tools and offsets, making basic program/offset corrections, and producing components as per engineering drawings and required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) / CNC VTL machines independently.
- Should have strong practical knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and machining requirements.
- Perform proper workpiece loading, clamping and alignment.
- Set and adjust cutting tools, tool offsets and work offsets.
- Load and run CNC programs as per production requirements.
- Make necessary offset corrections and basic program edits when required.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters.
- Monitor machining operations and ensure smooth and safe machine operation.
- Carry out first-piece and in-process inspection of components.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge and other inspection equipment.
- Monitor component dimensions and make appropriate corrections to maintain accuracy.
- Identify and report tooling, dimensional and machining-related problems.
- Minimize rejection, rework, tool consumption and machine downtime.
- Maintain production output as per assigned targets and schedules.




- Follow process sheets, work instructions and quality procedures.
- Maintain proper machine housekeeping and follow 5S and safety practices.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams whenever required.
- Maintain required production and inspection records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Machining, Mechanical Engineering or related trade preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant VTL/CNC turning experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Fanuc CNC operating systems.
- Good knowledge of VTL machine operation and CNC turning processes.
- Knowledge of tool offsets, work offsets and tool wear compensation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and basic machining parameters.
- Ability to perform basic CNC program reading and editing.
- Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to identify and correct basic dimensional and machining problems.
- Valuable understanding of quality requirements and dimensional tolerances.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to production quality.
- Willingness to work in both shifts is mandatory.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should:

- Have solid hands-on experience in CNC VTL operations.
- Be comfortable working with Fanuc-controlled machines.
- Be capable of handling routine machine operations with minimum supervision.
- Have good knowledge of turning tools, offsets and machining parameters.
- Be quality-conscious and production-oriented.
- Be disciplined and punctual.
- Be willing to work in rotational/both shifts.
- Be comfortable working in a manufacturing/precision machining environment.

Salary & Vacancies Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹29,000 per month, depending on experience, technical skills and interview performance.
