Job Summary

Sri Deepam Engineering is looking for experienced VMC Setter cum Operators to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate should have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in VMC machine setting and operation and should be well versed with Fanuc CNC control systems.

The candidate will be responsible for machine setting, tool setting, program loading/editing, component machining, in-process inspection and ensuring production quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

- Set and operate Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines independently.
- Should have strong working knowledge of Fanuc CNC operating systems and controls.
- Set tools, work offsets, tool offsets and work coordinates accurately.
- Load and execute CNC programs and make necessary program edits/offset corrections.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions and GD&T;.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders and machining parameters.
- Carry out first-piece inspection and in-process inspection.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge and other inspection equipment.
- Monitor machining operations and make necessary corrections to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Identify and rectify common machining and tooling issues.




- Ensure proper machine setup before starting production.
- Maintain required quality, productivity and production targets.
- Follow prescribed process sheets, inspection procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and follow 5S and workplace safety practices.
- Minimize tool wear, machine downtime, rejection and rework.
- Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams for smooth production.
- Maintain machine and production-related records as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Machining, Mechanical Engineering or related trade preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience as a VMC Setter / VMC Operator.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls is essential.
- Ability to independently perform VMC machine setting and operation.
- Good knowledge of tool setting, work offsets and tool offsets.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters and tooling selection.
- Good understanding of dimensional inspection and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of CNC program reading and basic editing.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machining, tooling and dimensional issues.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.




- Willingness to work in both shifts is mandatory.

Salary & Perks Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month, depending on experience, technical skills and interview performance.
