Role Description The Video Editor role at Barakhadee is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune District. The editor will be responsible for taking raw footage and transforming it into engaging, well-paced and visually strong content for brands across digital platforms, campaigns and other communication formats.
The role involves end-to-end editing, including selecting and assembling footage, creating strong narrative flow, editing reels and short-form content, adding music and sound design, basic motion graphics, colour correction, and adapting videos for different platforms and formats.
The ideal candidate should understand current video and social content trends, know what makes content engaging in the first few seconds, and be comfortable experimenting with new editing styles, formats and storytelling techniques. A basic understanding of shooting, framing, camera angles, lighting and how footage is captured will be an advantage, as the role will involve close collaboration with the production team.
The editor will also be expected to explore and responsibly use AI tools that improve the editing and post-production process, including AI-assisted workflows for transcription, subtitles, cleanup, ideation, editing assistance, sound enhancement, image/video generation and other relevant applications. AI should be used as a creative and productivity tool, while maintaining human judgement, originality and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Edit short-form and long-form video content for brands, campaigns, social media and digital platforms.
Work with raw footage to create clear, engaging and visually compelling stories.
Understand pacing, hooks, transitions, music, sound design and audience attention.
Create platform-specific edits for Instagram, YouTube, websites, campaigns and other formats.
Add basic motion graphics, typography, titles, subtitles and visual effects.
Perform basic colour correction and grading to maintain visual consistency.
Stay updated with current editing styles, formats, internet culture and video content trends.
Explore AI tools and new technologies to improve speed, quality and creative output.
Understand basic shooting principles such as framing, composition, camera movement, lighting and shot selection.
Collaborate with creative directors, strategists, designers,
copywriters and production teams.
Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, brand guidelines and project timelines.
Manage multiple projects and incorporate feedback efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong proficiency in video editing and post-production.
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve or similar tools.
Understanding of pacing, visual storytelling, music selection and sound design.
Basic knowledge of colour correction, motion graphics and typography.
Awareness of current social media video trends and digital content formats.
Basic understanding of shooting, camera language and how to edit footage effectively.
Willingness to learn and experiment with AI tools relevant to editing and content creation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across deliverables.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
A portfolio or showreel demonstrating previous work is required.
Relevant experience in advertising, branding, digital content or production is preferred.
A diploma or degree in Film, Media, Design or a related field is advantageous, though practical experience and a robust portfolio will be considered.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune-JM Road
Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be preferred.
Candidates must be comfortable working across different content styles, brands and project requirements.
