To plan, supervise, and control all mining, quarrying, excavation, drilling, blasting, crushing, and aggregate production activities required for construction of the RCC dam and hydroelectric project, ensuring compliance with approved designs, safety standards, quality requirements, environmental conditions, and statutory regulations.

A. Quarry & Mining Operations

- Plan and supervise quarry development and mining operations for construction materials.
- Identify and assess suitable sources of rock, aggregates, sand, and other construction materials.
- Prepare quarry development plans, extraction plans, and production schedules.
- Monitor excavation, bench formation, slope stability, muck handling, and material recovery.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available mineral resources and minimize wastage.

B. Drilling & Blasting

- Plan and supervise drilling and controlled blasting activities for quarry and excavation works.
- Prepare/coordinate blast designs based on geological conditions and project requirements.
- Determine drilling patterns, burden, spacing, stemming, charge quantities, and initiation sequence as per approved procedures.
- Monitor blasting vibrations, fly-rock, fragmentation, and overbreak.
- Coordinate with the safety team and concerned authorities for safe execution of blasting operations.
- Maintain records of drilling, explosives consumption, blasting, and production.

C. Dam & Hydro Excavation

- Supervise rock excavation and controlled excavation for dam foundation, diversion structures, powerhouse, intake, tunnels, shafts, adits, roads, and other project components.
- Coordinate excavation activities with Civil, Geology, Planning,



Survey, and QA/QC teams.
- Ensure excavation is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and geological conditions.
- Monitor controlled blasting near critical structures to avoid damage to foundation rock and existing structures.

D. Crushing & Aggregate Production

- Coordinate with crushing and screening plant teams for production of aggregates of required sizes and quality.
- Monitor production capacity, material feed, crusher performance, screening efficiency, and stockpile management.
- Ensure proper segregation and storage of different aggregate sizes.
- Coordinate with QA/QC laboratory for testing and approval of aggregates.

E. Geological & Technical Coordination

- Work closely with the Geology team to understand rock formations, geological structures, joints, faults, and groundwater conditions.
- Assess geological conditions during excavation and recommend suitable excavation/blasting methods.
- Assist in identifying unstable zones and implementing appropriate slope stabilization measures.
- Review geological observations and incorporate them into mining and excavation plans.

F. Production & Equipment Management

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly mining/excavation production plans.




- Monitor deployment and productivity of drilling rigs, excavators, dumpers, compressors, loaders, and other equipment.
- Track excavation quantities, drilling meters, blasting quantities, muck generation, and aggregate production.
- Improve equipment utilization and overall productivity.

G. Safety & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure mining and blasting activities comply with applicable statutory requirements, approved mining plans, permits, and project safety procedures.
- Ensure protected handling, storage, transportation, and accounting of explosives through authorized personnel.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and risk assessments for mining and blasting activities.
- Monitor quarry slopes, benches, access roads, and working areas for safety risks.
- Coordinate with the HSE team for implementation of project safety standards.

H. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain records of drilling, blasting, excavation, quarry production, explosive consumption, and aggregate production.
- Prepare daily progress reports and monthly production reports.
- Maintain quarry plans, blast records, production statements, and material reconciliation.
- Provide technical inputs for project MIS, planning, billing, and cost-control activities.

Experience

- 6 -10 years of relevant experience in mining/quarrying operations.
- Experience in Hydroelectric Projects, RCC/Concrete Dams, tunnelling, major infrastructure projects, quarry development, drilling & blasting, and aggregate production will be preferred.

Experience in large-scale rock excavation and controlled blasting is desirable.
