Role Overview:
The Total Rewards Lead – APAC serves as a strategic partner to regional HR and business leaders, providing governance, oversight, and advisory support for compensation, benefits, and recognition programs across the Asia-Pacific region.
Reporting to the Director, Global Compensation, this role is responsible for ensuring regional rewards programs align with ADM's global Total Rewards philosophy, governance standards, and business objectives while addressing local market conditions, workforce needs, and regulatory requirements across multiple APAC jurisdictions. The role promotes consistency, compliance, and operational excellence through effective governance, stakeholder engagement, and regional oversight.

Role Overview:
The Total Rewards Lead – APAC works closely with the Global Compensation Center of Excellence (COE) to support the implementation of global compensation frameworks, policies, governance standards, and reward programs throughout the region. The role partners with the COE on compensation strategy, job architecture, market benchmarking, annual compensation planning, and other global initiatives, while providing regional insights and recommendations to address APAC-specific talent and business needs.
For benefits and wellbeing programs, the role oversees the governance and strategic direction of regional benefit offerings and serves as the key liaison with ADM's Captive Insurance team and Aon as the global benefits broker. In partnership with country HR teams, the role supports benefits harmonization efforts, vendor governance, risk management, market competitiveness, and cost optimization initiatives, while local implementation and administration remain the responsibility of in-country teams.
The position provides consultative support to HR Business Partners, Recruiting, Finance, Payroll, and business leaders on compensation and benefits matters, leveraging data, market intelligence, and regional expertise to develop recommendations that enhance the employee value proposition and support business objectives. The role also oversees regional recognition program governance and supports initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and retention.
The Total Rewards Lead – APAC collaborates extensively with the Global Compensation COE, regional HR leaders, Finance, Payroll, and external partners to strengthen governance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the effective delivery of Total Rewards programs across APAC. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, influence,
and operational oversight to support organizational priorities and deliver a competitive and sustainable rewards experience for employees throughout the region.
Core Responsibilities:
Compensation Strategy & Program Management:
- Lead the development and execution of the APAC Total Rewards strategy, ensuring alignment with global frameworks, governance standards, and regional business objectives.
- Partner closely with the Global Compensation COE to implement compensation programs, policies, and initiatives across the region.
- Oversee annual compensation processes, including salary planning, merit reviews, incentive programs, and equity cycles.
- Conduct market benchmarking and compensation analyses using external surveys and market data to ensure competitiveness.
- Support pay governance by promoting equitable and consistent compensation practices across roles, geographies, and employee populations.
- Partner with HR and business leaders on job architecture, job evaluations, leveling, and career framework initiatives.
Benefits & Wellbeing Programs:
- Oversee the governance, strategic direction, and policy framework for regional benefits and wellbeing programs, including health, retirement, leave, and financial wellbeing offerings.
- Establish benefits governance standards and ensure regional programs are aligned with ADM's overall Total Rewards philosophy, business objectives, and financial stewardship requirements.
- Partner with in-country HR teams to provide strategic guidance and oversight while supporting local implementation and administration of benefits programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the ADM Captive Insurance team and Aon as the global benefits broker to support program financing, risk management, market benchmarking, and benefits strategy development.
- Drive regional benefits harmonization and governance efforts where appropriate, balancing global consistency with local market requirements, regulatory considerations, and workforce needs.
- Oversee benefits vendor governance, including broker and provider performance management, contract oversight, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Review market trends, risks, and opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance the employee value proposition through sustainable, competitive, and compliant benefits programs.
- Monitor program effectiveness through governance reviews, analytics, and stakeholder engagement to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, statutory benefits requirements, and compensation-related legislation across APAC countries.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and controls for compensation, benefits, and recognition programs.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, and HR stakeholders to mitigate compliance and operational risks.
- Support audits, regulatory reporting, and documentation requirements related to Total Rewards programs.
Business Partnership & Advisory Support:
- Serve as the primary Total Rewards partner for APAC HR Business Partners, leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Provide expert consultation on compensation decisions, employment offers, promotions, retention strategies, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional leadership teams and Global Centers of Excellence to address business and talent challenges through effective rewards solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and industry networks.
Analytics & Insights:
- Leverage compensation, benefits, and workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop analyses and insights to support talent attraction, retention, engagement, and workforce planning strategies.
- Prepare recurring reports, dashboards, and presentations for regional and global stakeholders.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic Total Rewards decision-making.
Process Improvement & Transformation:
- Drive continuous improvement of Total Rewards processes, tools, technologies, and operating models.
- Support HRIS, rewards technology, and reporting enhancements across the APAC region.
- Lead or contribute to regional and global compensation and benefits transformation initiatives.
- Ensure effective implementation and adoption of new programs, processes, and governance standards.
Global Mobility:
- Manage end-to-end mobility programs for inbound and outbound international assignments across the APAC region.
- Partner with Global Mobility, HR, Payroll, Tax, and external providers to support assignment planning, administration, and compliance.
- Ensure mobility programs align with company policies, business needs, and local regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance to employees and leaders on international assignment policies, relocation support, and mobility-related benefits.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 10 years of progressive Total Rewards experience, including significant responsibility across APAC markets.
- Strong knowledge of compensation practices, advantages design, and regulatory requirements across key APAC countries, including India, China, Singapore, and other major regional markets.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-country compensation, benefits, and rewards programs within the APAC region.
- Experience operating effectively within a global, matrixed organization and partnering across multiple functions and geographies.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and driving business-aligned reward initiatives.
- Strong understanding of job architecture, job evaluation methodologies, and market pricing frameworks; experience with Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, or similar methodologies preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience utilizing HR analytics, reporting, and market benchmarking tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, consulting, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance global consistency and governance requirements with local market customization and business needs.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee and compensation information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience leading or supporting compensation, benefits, HR technology, and Total Rewards transformation initiatives preferred.
