Job Title: TIG & MIG Welder / Fabrication Specialist
Position Summary:
A TIG & MIG Welder performs exact joining, fabrication, and repair of metal components using Tungsten Inert Gas (GTAW) and Metal Inert Gas (GMAW) welding techniques. The role requires strong blueprint reading, metallurgical understanding, and strict adherence to structural quality standards across steel, stainless steel, and aluminum assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Setup: Read engineering blueprints and welding symbols to plan layout, cutting, and assembly sequences. Clamp, align, and tack-weld components using jigs and fixtures prior to final welds.
- TIG Welding (GTAW): Perform high-precision welds on thin gauge metals, non-ferrous materials (aluminum, brass, copper), and critical stainless steel joints requiring smooth, high-integrity cosmetic finishes.
- MIG Welding (GMAW/FCAW): Operate semi-automatic wire-feed equipment for structural steel fabrication, high-volume production, and heavy-gauge metal joining with high deposition rates.
- Machine Calibration: Adjust shielding gas flow rates (Argon, $CO_2$, or mixes), wire feed speeds, amperage, and voltage based on material thickness, alloy type, and joint configuration.
- Post-Weld Finishing: Clean welds using wire brushes, grinders,
and pickling paste to remove slag, spatter, and oxidation. Grind, polish, or flush welds to client specifications.
- Quality Assurance & Safety: Perform non-destructive visual tests for defects like porosity, undercut, or lack of penetration. Maintain PPE protocols (auto-darkening helmet, respirator, leather sleeves/gloves) and workspace safety standards.
Education & CertificationHigh school diploma or trade school certification in welding technology. AWS certifications (GMAW / GTAW) or ISO/EN standard certifications are highly desirable. Technical ExpertiseMastery of both pulse/dip TIG and short-arc/spray MIG processes. Proficient in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), and weld defect troubleshooting.
Physical DemandsStrong manual dexterity, steady hand control, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and endurance for prolonged standing, bending, or working in confined spaces.
ExperienceTypically 2–4 years of combined TIG and MIG welding experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or custom metal fabrication environments.
Pay: ₹20,667.00 - ₹31,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
