Role Description This is a full-time, on-site TGT – Chemistry role located in Barrackpur-II at St. Augustine’s Day School for Boys. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with the school curriculum, fostering conceptual understanding and scientific thinking among students.

Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, conducting classroom teaching, organizing and supervising laboratory work, assessing student performance, and providing constructive feedback. The role also involves maintaining a safe and well-organized laboratory environment, guiding students in experiments and projects, and integrating technology and contemporary examples into teaching. The teacher is expected to participate in school activities,



collaborate with colleagues, communicate regularly with parents/guardians, and support the overall academic and personal growth of students.

Qualifications

- Chemistry expertise: Solid subject knowledge in Chemistry, with the ability to teach middle and secondary school levels effectively.
- Analytical and research skills: Proficiency in Analytical Skills and Research and Development (R&D;) to explain concepts, design experiments, and encourage scientific inquiry.
- Laboratory skills: Competent Laboratory Skills to conduct safe, structured practical sessions and demonstrate proper use of equipment and chemicals.
- Communication skills: Clear and effective Communication skills for teaching, student guidance, classroom management, and interaction with parents and colleagues.
- Educational qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, along with a B.Ed.(must)
- Teaching experience: Prior experience teaching Chemistry at school level, preferably in a CBSE/ICSE or similar curriculum environment.
- Classroom management and pedagogy: Ability to manage diverse classrooms, use student-centered teaching methods, and support holistic development.
- Technical and professional skills: Comfort with using educational technology, maintaining academic records, and continuous professional development.
